In March, there was the biggest wildfires that ever hit Nebraska.

Nearly 900,000-plus acres across western Nebraska destroyed property, displacing over 35,000

cattle, destroying critical pasture lands, fencing, hay, hay stocks, barns full of hay, leaving it impossible for people to feed their animals and to keep them alive.

And we're talking a massive amount of money, a massive amount of livestock, people's livelihoods.

Well, I say impossible, and that would be true if this were in other

countries. But in America, we made the impossible possible. People came together all across

the United States, and this is a heartwarming story that

it caught my attention.

You know, and here's the thing.

I didn't even know that there were wildfires in Nebraska.

This was a massive, colossal wildfire.

And you don't hear about it.

And I literally have not seen this anywhere on the

news until just now. And I happened to be, actually, I admit, I was doom scrolling. I was

doom scrolling on Facebook. And I came across a very encouraging story that talked about people

coming together across the United States and donating hundreds of thousands of tons of

hay.

Now, I used to work on a hay farm and I know what it takes to gather hay.

It is a hard job. And let me tell you,

hay is precious. And especially right now with fuel costs the way that it is, a diesel fuel is over $6 a gallon. And you want to talk about very difficult for farmers because their entire livelihood
