Welcome back Hawkeye fans for another edition of the Hawkeye History podcast where we catch up with former Iowa athletes and find out what they're up to today and then take a walk down memory lane from their time at Iowa and before.

I am back, and today I have former Hawkeye Safety John Loudermilk who recently moved to the great state of Iowa.

And maybe you were in Iowa before, but you told me the other

day you're in Des Moines.

How's it going, John?

Good.

Thanks for having me, Rob.

It must be a slow news month having me on here.

But I was actually over in Peoria, Illinois.

I moved out here.

Beginning of March, I started with Stryker, a med device company, and I did a apprenticeship

role for about a year and a half over in Peoria.

And then, yeah, I kind of switched divisions over to sports medicine here in Des Moines

and kind of learning on the fly this quarantine.

It hasn't been all too bad because it's given me a chance to kind of catch up on some

educational items for this new division that I'm in.

But I'm definitely happy to be back in Iowa.

I love it here.

That's the John I remember.

You look for the silver linings, and you went through the 2012 season here, so you had to look for silver linings.

Yeah, that was a rough year.
