0:43.3	Well, he spent the last two seasons as the Rangers' associate manager working under Bruce Bochy.
0:50.3	After Bochy came out of retirement to manage the Rangers, Venable was the first guy he hired.
0:56.7	Last year, he was reportedly considered to be the favorite to replace Terry Francona as manager of the Guardians, but he chose to stay in Texas instead.
1:08.1	And before that, Venable was Alex Corr's bench coach in Boston for two years and after spending
1:13.4	nine years in the majors as a player, eight with the Padres, who's hired by Theo Epstein
1:21.2	to be his special assistant with the Cubs.
1:25.6	Venable then became a first base coach and third base coach with the Cubs from 2018 to 2020.
1:30.8	He was a finalist for the Marlins managing job at the same time this month,
1:36.9	but he ends up signing with the White Sox instead.
