The Hello everyone and welcome to episode 1.32 of Sleep and Relax ASMR.

This episode we will be reading the Wikipedia page for Hawaii,

State of Hawaiian.

Of course, I am going to trim some of these sections out because if not I'd be here

whispering or gently speaking to you for the next five hours. Maybe for some of you

that would be lovely.

But that's a very long episode, so

trimmed out some of the fat, if you will.

And I have some of the content just here waiting for me to read.

The series is basically just called Let's Read Wikipedia, but I don't know so far I haven't gotten a nicer name for it so

Either way let's start episode 132, Hawaii.

The kingdom of Hawaii originated in 1795 with the unification of the independent islands of Hawaii, Oahu, Maui, Molokai, and Lanai under one government. In 1810 the whole Hawaiian Archipelago, I can never say this word,

Archipelago, Archipelago became unified when Kauai and Niau Nuiuai joined the kingdom voluntarily and without

bloodshed or war.

The two major dynastic families ruled the kingdom the house of Kamehah and the house of Kalakua

Kalakawa the kingdom won recognition for major European powers the United States became its chief trading partner and the

kingdom was watched jealously lest Britain, Japan, or another power threat to cease control.

Hawaii adopted a new constitution in 1887 to reduce the absolute power of King Kalakua,

Queen Lilio Kulani, who's acceded Kalakawa in 1891, tried to restore the old order, but was overthrown

in 1893, largely at the hands of United States citizens.

Hawaii became a republic until the United States annexed it in 1898.
