Summary

With everything going on in society, we thought it would be timely to discuss ways to have productive political conversations as a couple. While we didn't cover the hot-topics themselves, hopefully this episode will help you and your spouse "come to the table" and hash out tough political disagreements. We discussed the four big presuppositions to every conversation, the cultural lies they dispel, and how to apply them when talking about (and disagreeing on) hard things. We hope this episode helps you!

this episode is to kind of address productive communication in a marriage context around these

0:44.4

types of issues. Yeah. Okay. So we're not the first couple to deal with this, but we've had

0:49.3

heated conversations around politically charged topics. It's not because we're not an agreement.

0:54.6

It's that there's, there's nuances to our communication that don't always come out and they get

0:59.5

amplified by the depth of our relationship.

1:01.5

Which is interesting because as much as I think Ryan and I have always been in agreement

1:05.9

on the same path for like majority of the time, there are few things that cause us to kind of feel divided on

1:12.9

some things to have to really hash through to even resign being unresolved on a few things but

1:19.2

how do we still find unity right how do we still um ground ourselves in the things of god right

1:27.2

and how are we submitting or not submitting to his authority and his word in our lives

1:31.0

in these conversations and in these, the elephants in the room, right?

1:36.3

So I think the goal of this episode, again, is just to kind of acknowledge the elephant, right?
