Okay, I gotta say, as we start this episode, I'm honestly, I'm just gutted.

I don't know what to say.

And it's because obviously there's a lot of stuff happening in our nation around the world.

Social unrest, there's all kinds of opinions being thrown around the internet so

brashly, and I get that there's a lot of pain in the world, but honestly, what is really disheartening to me is the what I see is the breakdown of productive communication in our society.

At least that's what it feels like. I know there's probably productive communication happening offline. I hope there is. I feel like there's that's another conversation.

But the whole point of this episode is to kind of address productive communication in the marriage context around these types of issues.

Okay, so we're not the first couple to deal with this, but we've had heated conversations around politically charged topics.

It's not because we're not in agreement. It's that there's there's nuances to our communication that don't always come out and they get amplified by the depth of our relationship.

Which is interesting because as much as I think Ryan and I have always been in agreement on the same path for like majority of the time, there are few things that cause us to

kind of feel divided on some things to have to really hash through to even resign being unresolved on a few things.

But how do we still find unity? Right? How do we still ground ourselves in the things of God? Right? And how are we submitting or not submitting to his authority and his word in our lives in these conversations?

And in these the elephants in the room. Right? So I think that the goal of this episode again is just to kind of acknowledge the elephant. Right?

We're not elephant interpreters here, but we're hoping to be able to give you some tools that have helped us to bring things to the table, so to speak metaphorically, to deal with each other in grace and to seek out unity together and what that looks like.

And unity around a truth around God's truth. Yes.

So anyway, we're going to get into all those details. This is going to be a dense episode. We're going to try to treat it with with with charity, but also some levity as we like to do and have some fun along the way, but also knowing that these are serious topics and when you're dealing with it in marriage, it needs to be handled gently and you know with with grace.
