You guys take a break. Be seated. Theologically, what we're doing right now is called Christocentricity.

Christocentricity. And I love the idea because the idea is that we are in our own world,

at least, the world for which we're responsible, we're insisting that Christ not be at the

periphery, but that Jesus actually

be in the center. Now, as I mentioned earlier, you know, he spoke everything into existence.

Jesus was the principal creative force within the triune relationship for creation.

It was the word that spoke things into existence.

All things were made by him and nothing that was made was made apart from him.

Not only was everything that was made made because of him,

it's all being held together because of him. Whether you worship God, whether you're a believer or not,

whether you trust the authority of scripture, you're breathing Christological air, as Baxter Kruger would say.

You're breathing Christological air, whether you know it or not. But for it to have the intended

benefit, Christ has to go from more than an abstract idea holding things together to the now present one that my world revolves around.

And so we're going to talk a little bit tonight about having not just a right Christocentricity,

but I think more important than that is a right Christology,

is that we literally refuse to have a notion of God

theologically independent from Christ.

Now, let's talk about what I mean when I say that.

Theology, the study of Theos,

theos being the Greek word for God.

So theology, the ology aspect of theos is the study of God, to come to an understanding of the nature of God.
