0:45.1	Sunday. Gaudetay by the way is an imperative. It means do it rejoice and we
0:50.3	always celebrate this on the third Sunday of Advent. Well the second
0:55.1	meeting for today taken from Paul's letter to the Philippians. The little passage
0:59.9	I think is one of the most significant in the whole Bible and I want it to
1:04.0	dwell on it today in the homily. It names the truth that is absolutely fundamental
1:09.0	to the spiritual life. Now here's the text. Brothers and sisters rejoice in the
1:16.7	Lord always. I shall say it again rejoice. Now put that on your screen saver put
1:24.0	that on the wall wherever you see things. Again brother and sisters rejoice in
1:29.0	the Lord always. I shall say it again rejoice. Now what makes this strange puzzling
1:39.8	is that little word always. I mean I completely get it if you were to say you
1:46.2	know rejoice when things are going your way. Rejoice when you're having a good
1:52.4	day. Rejoice when you've won a great victory you landed a job you've always
1:58.5	wanted or you experienced the birth of your first child. Rejoice sure but always
2:08.3	how could you possibly rejoice when you've had a bitter disappointment. You've
