In this edition of the Peristyle Podcast hosts Ryan Abraham and Connor Morrissette (aka "Triple-Double") return to discuss what appears to be the end of USC's search for a defensive coordinator with former TCU head coach Gary Patterson being the only name we have been hearing for the past week. This is an extremely important hire for head coach Lincoln Riley and the guys talk about the latest they are hearing about the search, how likely it is that Patterson gets hired and when it could be announced.
The guys also discuss the breaking news that secondary coach Doug Belk will not being a part of this defensive staff going forward. His name came up as a potential candidate during the search, but as it became more likely that Patterson was the direction USC was going it seemed less and less likely that Belk would be sticking around.
They finish up talking about the closing of the NCAA Transfer Portal, Mike Ekeler officially joining the staff as special teams coordinator plus what Indiana winning the national championship means for college football, the Big Ten and USC.
