I want to talk about the summer and what that means. And also actually the change in landscape of the Premier League. And I think this is important in that. The Premier League feels like it's a bit of a throwback at this moment in time. There are set pieces. It's Flintstone Land at the moment. Yeah, there's a lot. But also there's big physical teams and there's teams who are running power and there are teams

who are trying to overwhelm you and if you look at Liverpool's window in the summer that's

just gone Frimpong, Kerkers, Virt, Eckert TK, Isaac, none of them lads are what you'd call

that type of football and if you look around the Premier League everybody, it's physicality,

it's running power, it's defensive solidity, it's set pieces. In some respects, that's almost a result of the way we were last year. I think teams looked at us. We were playing possession of football. We were playing very slow, methodical football, which was winning us games by the odd goal and teams have thought you know what we can

just get into these this time and that's what they're doing i mean if you was watching them in

the second half and every time the ball came out of our area we lost the ball that must have lost the ball four or five times when the ball came out,

and we were immediately back under pressure.

And it wasn't just Vertz, you know, everyone's Gapo lost the ball,

Jones lost the ball,

everyone, instead of getting the ball upfield,

we were just coming back on more and more pressure.

And that, you know, you're never going to win a game of football if you can't get the ball out of your own area. Ian, sorry, it's interesting because sometimes you just get caught out by the zags or you get caught out by something and it appears the league's all gone this way towards a certain certain style. I was looking through our team and it was the, I I've been trying to analyze everything because, of course, there was the job, but also one of people are losing trying to find things, right? And there aren't that many players in our team who I would say are that type of football. If you, you know, like the rough and tumble and the edders and the throwings and the corners and the running power

and all this kind of thing they don't really have that we've got a team at this moment in time

that looks very finesse and it looks like if Liverpool are pairing they'll be a pairing you know

they'll have knocking it about kirkess and frimpong those you know the vets these type of signings

are me for that style of footy the league has has definitely gone, we're going this way, we're going big, strong, quick, powerful analytics telling you to kick goal kicks into the corner and get long throwings and all this kind of stuff. We're going to beat you, we're going to be strong. And that, for me that is a worry now when I look at our team, If you look at all these defeats that we've had on a row the only time they've won was against their Frankfurt sides who didn't play like that everybody else has you know man united were long ball second ball Chris the Palace long ball second ball corners throwings free kicks Chelsea to an extent with the same a little bit not as much but Chelsea have definitely got a bit more power to their game. It does feel like our squad at the minute isn't... And listen, Liverpool spends a ton of money, and they're all good players, and I'm not saying they're not. But it feels like the Premier League is here, and Liverpool's squad isn't there, if that makes sense. We've been talking about the 90s before about when Liverpool last, considered that many goals, and that's what the game's like now. For me, though, the Liverpool players now seem to want more time on the ball than what they've actually got. Our players turn around and somebody's on them within a second, and they don't know what to do like avert gets

that accusation quite a lot but it's not just vets it's nearly every single one of our players

the only one i see who's moving with any sort of pace or in any sort of intentities is

echo tk and when he's getting left out of the team i mean i know he's played the last two games

but he's been in and out of the team and and he needs to be the first team. He needs to be the first one on the team sheet every match for me. I think he's becoming irrelevance, to be honest. I mean, the problem we've got is stopping goals going in, not scoring them at the other end. We need to figure out why Van Dyke and Karnati aren't working properly. We need to figure out why our midfield can't get a grip of a football game once they lose it because we were okay for half an hour against Brentford. I thought, yeah, this is all right. We'll come back and we'll score and we'll probably win this game. And then suddenly we went to pieces, totally lost the game. and for an hour we couldn't get the ball out of our half it's interesting as well John because like I'm trying to think that the phrase I put someone on Twitter messaged me and I read it and it was like and it was a Brentford taxi in February to me it just looks like Liverpool don't like it up them and I remember Troidini coming out about Arsenal that time, you know, the Cajonas kind of things. Like we feel we can get at you physically and we can dominate yours and for an opposition and it looks like opposition, think that now.
