Have junior officers lost confidence in their commanders?

Hello again, I'm on Al-Nalny, and this is To the Point from Public Radio International,

a daily look at the issues, Americans care about most.

The captains always think they know more than the generals, but the U.S. Army is now seeing a trust gap between junior and senior officers. The juniors now have more combat experience

than the seniors in counter-insurgencies different from the conventional war they prepared

for. That's according to military sources who say they've been let down in Iraq

by the same mistakes made during Vietnam.

On To the Point, was the current generation trained

for the wrong war?

Are they less willing to follow orders

than those who've gone before?
