Welcome to Searchlight. A survey through scripture with Pastor John Corson. It is our desire to bring you a

systematic study of the entire Bible chapter by chapter book by book.

We have been taught by our culture that we can have it your way.

On our last program, Pastor John began to share with us some of the problems of this thinking.

We begin to believe that our way is smarter or better than God's way, and it has led to lots of problems.

This is not new thinking either.

In fact, our study comes from a verse in Judges Chapter 17 that says that everyone did what was right in his own eyes.

As we join John today, he is talking about the results of people believing that they can do things their own way regarding marriage with the disappointing

results of this thinking here now is pastor John. We'll do it our way. We don't have to leave and then cleave. We'll just cleave first and see what happens.

And then we'll live together. We don't need to go through this old standard of getting married. Hey, that's

archaic, unimportant. 42 million. Today as we speak 51 million couples are living together outside of marriage.

51 million couples will do it our way. No one's going to put a trip on me. This is what works.

Now, what are the results? The results are in. What has happened? What's happened in marriage? What's happened with relationships?

Compared to the 1946 generation, the Glen Miller Tommy Dorsey era where people stayed together and are celebrating now their golden diamond

anniversaries what's happened with us.
