Thank you. Good morning, good afternoon and good evening and welcome to the Tangle podcast, the place we get views from across the political spectrum.

Some independent thinking without all that hysterical nonsense you find everywhere else.

I'm your host, Isaac Saul, and we are in a little bit of an odd day today.

Today is Yom Kippur.

This is the holiest holiday of the Jewish year.

And like millions of other Jews today, I will be abstaining from eating and drinking

among many other prohibitions like bathing or sexual relations or wearing leather shoes.

There's lots of interesting stuff in ancient religions.

That means no food and no coffee for me. It also means no work. Among many other traditions

that lead up to Yom Kippur Jews are supposed to spend the eve of Yom Kippur, which began

at sundown last night, and the entire day today in prayer and meditation. So I'm, you know, violating that a little bit

right now by getting up early to get this podcast recorded. It's a time of atonement, not just with

God, but among friends and family. And tonight, prayers will close with the ritual blowing of the

shofar, the ram's horn, which is a tradition many people are familiar

with that happens after sundown. If this is your first time listening to the Tangle podcast,

I apologize. It's pretty unusual for me to take a day off in the middle of the week.
