Havamol is perhaps one of the most famous pieces of Old Norse literature

found in a collection of poems known as the poetic edda.

It's composed of the wisdom and advice of the high god Odin, who addresses an unknown character called Ladfafnir.

The poem recounts Odin's personal experiences throughout the advice he gives to this unknown learner.

Joining me today to discuss the poem of Havamal is Dr. Jackson Crawford,

an Old Norse specialist and translator of the University of Colorado Boulder. In the description
