Summary

In Green Pond, nights fall so still you can hear a dog bark from three streets over… and sometimes things you wish you couldn’t.

This true paranormal story follows one man’s decades-long battle with an unseen presence that seemed to know his name. After losing his first wife, he often visited her grave under a lone streetlight, whispering prayers into the dark. But grief wasn’t all that followed him home. One night, he woke to a powerful yank on his arm as if someone tried to drag him off the bed — even though he was alone.

When he remarried and moved into a quiet subdivision, the disturbances escalated. Footsteps measured the hallway at dawn. Doors slammed as though in warning. A woman’s cheerful “Hi” drifted from an empty kitchen. Worst of all, the entity learned to borrow their faces: it spoke to his wife in his voice while he was miles away at work, and more than once she saw herself walk past the bedroom door while still sitting on the bed.

The most terrifying moment came late at night when the doppelgänger stood at the foot of their bed. His wife said a single, commanding phrase — “Not here.” The creature’s head seemed to scramble like a broken video signal before it recoiled and vanished.
