Wonder. It's the middle of the night in October 1966 at the Penguin Warehouse on the outskirts of London, England.

George Nichols, a worker at the warehouse, brings his car to a stop next to the only other vehicle

in the parking lot, a van with its rear doors wide open. Standing by the van as penguin's founder and

chairman, Sir Alan Lane. A little while ago, Alan woke George with a

telephone call and told him to get to the warehouse immediately. So George is a

bit nervous. He has no idea why there's such a rush but everyone who works at

Penguin knows not to cross Allen Lane. As George gets out of the car, Alan calls him.

Ah, did you bring the keys? I have them here, Mr. Lane. Get the door open then quickly now.

George unlocks the warehouse door and both men step inside. George flicks on the lights,

revealing a vast room lined with shells stretching up to the ceiling.

Neatly stacked books and cardboard boxes fill every space.

Allen doesn't say a word, but marches down the central aisle

until he reaches a particular shelf and pulls out a box.

It duds to the ground and Alan checks the label.

This is it.

Grab a cart, George.

I need every one of these boxes into that van.

Yes, Mr. Lane. George heaves the heavy box off the ground and lowers it carefully into the cart.

Alan is already hauling the next box off the shelf and George hurries over to help.

As they carry the heavy box between them, George plucks up the courage to speak.

Mr Lane, if you don't mind me asking what are we doing never you mind that George just do as your toll yes sir
