The race is on and Williams pulled a Red Bull by launching a 2022 show car, but it proved only to be a temporary delay.

Well, Mark, it was a bit of a roller coaster of a launch this one with the disappointment of a show car,

followed by confirmation the real one would be running at Silverstone.

So we only had to wait at least a few hours to see it.

Yeah, it was a bit like a magical mystery tour, especially when the car was delayed and it's running as well.

So, yeah, it had a few twists and turns the day, but we got there on the end.

Yeah, it seems to have been all about the marketing in that although the shakedown car did have the livery on it,

they wanted to make sure everything on the branding was spot on.

So they took their time with a show car and were able to do the images with it.

I guess that's just the commercial realities of wanting to ensure the car looks right,

which is understandable, but not of much use to us.

But the images from Shakedown, there weren't many of them, but that gave us some more to go on.

So, Gary, what was your initial impression of this car when you finally did see a few images?

Well, the initial thing was obviously a bit of a bit of confusion because of what they

released for the livery. And then again, as you say, the fact that we saw that we heard

we were going to run at Silverstone, which is a bit of a surprise because I don't live far
