Hey everyone. Finn Melanson here. We are back with a new episode of the single track podcast.

Caleb Olson makes his second appearance. If you've been a long time listener of the show,

you remember that he came on shortly after his golden ticket victory at the Grindstone 100K

back in the fall of 2023. He's back on the show this time because of what I would consider to be

a historic win at the Trans Grand Canaria Classic this past weekend. And, you know, he's just been on

this amazing upward trajectory the last three to four years in this sport, seemingly

eclipsing each subsequent or each previous performance, I should say, in such a

decisive and impressive way. And I mentioned this over our Instagram stories earlier today that

basically I think this one at Transgrant Canaria pretty definitively puts him in the superstar category

and, you know, whether he lines up at the gorge,

waterfalls 100K in a few weeks or at the Western States 100 again in June or if he gets one of

those resume slots for worlds later this year, I mean, it's, I think he's one of those guys who,

I mean, immediately you put him in the same category as John Albin, who he's

now beaten twice in a row, Tom Evans, Killian, Jim, which feels crazy to say because I've known

Caleb now since 2019 sort of before this era, but like absolutely, you know. And anyways,

You know, we talk in sort of race report fashion about, like, this special relationship

that he develops with John and Josh Wade, basically from the beginning of the race to Heda

and, you know, all the critical moves made and where his mind was at and sort of the decision to be a frontrunner from the get-go as opposed to classically hunting from, you know, the back of the top ten and sometimes even further back.

We get into a little bit of what's next and yeah, just a really good catch-up.
