You know, we have this recency biased situation where it feels like this is the biggest thing, this is the worst thing, this is the biggest thing.

I'm not going to say that if the Mets missed the playoffs this year, it would be the most disappointing season that I've experienced as a Mets fan relative to expectations.

But it is at least a top three.

I think that 2007 coming off the NLCS, everybody was young, David Wright, Jose Reyes, it was just like one of those deals.

And obviously the collapse happens, that was a really bad one.

I think maybe, you know, 2016 off of the World Series, even though they made it back to the playoffs, to losing the wild card one game playoff.

That one game, yeah.

That felt like a pretty disappointing season.

You know, even it was tough because the circumstances were completely different after what happened in September in 2001.

But that 2001 season after NLCS World Series, they come out and they have a really, really tough start to the season.

They start to get hot, but then the Braves just smack them around and Brian Jordan.

So I'm thinking about all these things.

But this one, I mean, to go from the NLCS, what the Mets were building last year,

to go out and sign Juan Soto, all of the tickets that are being sold,

City Field is going nuts to miss the playoffs, which is now a real possibility.

Where two weeks ago, one week ago, I would have told you no way they're missing the playoffs.
