0:35.4	It's one that kind of breaks my heart because you can hear the pain and the doubt behind it.
0:42.3	It's this, has my sexual sin made me unsavable?
0:48.0	There's something about sexual sin that makes us feel dirty or ashamed or guilty. that we might be beyond the reach of God's saving grace. And unfortunately the church has given people reason to believe that.
1:07.0	Even though it's not true, the way the church has talked about sexual sin has caused people to question whether they are outside of God's forgiveness.
1:19.4	Matt Chandler, a pastor in Texas, tells a story about sitting in a church congregation one time when he was
1:27.7	younger and hearing a pastor talk about sexual sin. As the sermon started, the pastor handed a rose out in the congregation and told people to pass it around and look at it.
1:41.0	While they were doing that, he was preaching a sermon about the dangers of sexual
1:46.9	sin, about the horrible things that sexual sin does to human beings, about how wrong sexual sin is, about how God judges sexual
1:57.2	sin. And according to Chandler, this was a sermon that was filled with a lot of guilt and a lot of shame and a lot of
2:06.3	scolding not a lot of love or grace. Well by the time the pastor had ended the sermon, the rose had ended up going around
2:16.6	the congregation and was back in his hands.
2:20.6	And he held up that rose and he said,
2:23.0	just as this rose looks like it has been passed around among a lot of people.
2:29.0	It is wilted now, the stem is broken, its limp, its petals are torn, well who would want this
2:38.4	rose? And just like that, sexual sin makes us
2:43.0	unwanted, undesirable, unlovable,
2:46.8	because as a person's body has been passed around,
