Once more, we pause to let a smog from Victorian London clear from our eyes and lungs,

and travel to the new world and the golden age of serial murder, the 1970s.

Between 1972 and 1974, tonight's subject murdered at least four women.

But he began his killing career much earlier all the way back in the late 1940s,

when he murdered at least one woman he had raped.

In total, he is suspected of having killed 18 women.

He is one of those serial killers that in addition to acting cruel looks very much intimidating as well.

His name is Harvey Lewis Carignan, known to the media as Harvey The Hammer.
