Billy the Kid, Wild Billy Hickok, and John Wesley Harden were all six feet under.

The Buffalo were gone, the indigenous on reservation, and the once vast prairie now overrun by civilization.

The frontier for all intents and purposes had finally been tamed, but I guess

no one bothered to tell Harry Tracy. Considered by some to be the last of Bush Cassidy's wild bunch,

Tracy blasted his way out of prison in the summer in 1902, and what followed was one of the most

desperate manhunts in all of U.S. history. Over the course of the next two months, this Old West throwback would lead over a thousand

lawmen, including the National Guard, on a deadly game of chase that would see at least

seven men gunned down. According to the papers of his time, in all the criminal lore of the

country, there is no record equal to that of Harry Tracy for cold-blooded nerve,

desperation, and the thirst for crime.

Harry Tracy's real name was it Tracy. It was Severn's. And Harry Severn's was born sometime around the year

1875 near Pittsville, Wisconsin. His father, Orlando, was a forester by trade and his granddaddy,

the local justice of the peace. By all accounts, just a nice, upstanding family. Sadly, not all was

as it appeared. In 1889, Orlando Severins was elected as treasurer for a newly formed school board
