Why does Dumbledore see socks in the mirror?

One of the most important scenes in all of Harry Potter happens in Philosopher Stone after Harry is given the invisibility cloak by Dumbledore.

Harry explores the castle and stumbles upon the mirror of Eresed, which shows you your heart's desire, and we learn what Harry desires most is not riches or longevity or honorifics but family and love and for a boy who grew up with nothing and suddenly found out he was a famous wizard I'm a what a wizard
