it seems like it comes down to some decision

that Sirius makes either after he gets out of Askeban

or on the night the potters were murdered.

And today is a big one and maybe one of the most highly requested what ifs we've ever gotten.

What if Sirius had just arrived first and taken Harry.

After all, as his godfather,

this is quite literally his duty.

I mean, if Harry never ends up with the Durursley's that feels like it makes a world of difference to the rest of the story

not just because of how Harry would be raised but also because of what wouldn't happen the next day.

Because if serious takes Harry, then he doesn't go track down Peter,
