Okay guys, no matter how incompetent he may be,

it cannot be underestimated just how important to the overall story it is

when Peter Pettigrew escapes at the end of prisoner of Azkaban. It's actually one of those moments

that I even feel like inside of the book text itself

it's incredibly difficult to register with the characters how impactful this is

going to end up be if Harry and Company had just been a bit more careful

in how they were magically subduing Peter before exiting the Womping Willow,

so much could have been avoided. Because if Peter doesn't escape that night,

then he never goes in finds

Voldemort and starts nursing him back to health. In addition to that,

Sirius is easily cleared as innocent. Peter is the one who would end up going

back to Azcaban and Harry could go and start to live with his godfather.

Heck, maybe even Cornelius Fudge starts to realize that him and the ministry are capable of mistakes

and has more of an open mind as they move forward in the story.

Okay, that last one, a little bit of a stretch, but the point is the ramifications of this particular

situation are huge.
