Guys over on through the Griffin door, we have been combing through Chamber of Secrets

sentence by sentence trying to turn over as many rocks as possible.

And it's amazing to me how over 25 years later there are still so many little treasures to be found.

Like for example last week realizing that the diary was not the first hork

crux after all but the second or what we're going to be talking about this week

was making the diary a hcrux a total mistake on

Tom Riddle's part? We do know of course that he wanted to have a seven-part soul, so certainly

he was going to make more, but did he ever intend for the diary to be one?

Personally, I'm starting to think no, because the diary itself is just so unique compared

to the others.

It's not a powerfully magical object ahead of time.

Tom doesn't personally commit the murder and its use is much more offensive

compared to defensive like the rest of the Horcrux's. In the end I don't think he's upset with the diary as a Horcrux as it does end up being really useful and nearly accomplishes its task but did he mean to make it in the first place?

Today, we're going to find out.
