Does the Pensive have a dark twin?

Okay, let's talk magical artifacts, because the wizarding world is steeped in them.

The Mirror of Areside is a vital piece during Harry's first year that not only is the ultimate defense in protecting the philosopher's stone,

but also informs Dumbledore as to the kind of person Harry is.

Which is to say chosen one material.

But I am the chosen one.

Then you've got the Deathly Hallows shaping Harry's final journey to and from death with the Elder Wand deciding the victor of the final duel.

You've got the prophecy, horkruxes, secret two-way mirrors, time turners, the Marauders, map, the deluminator.

So many of these objects shape the entire story.

But then, perhaps most important of them all is the pensive, a kind of remarkable object with a fascinating and rather mysterious history that offers seamless exposition not only for Harry, but to us the readers as well.
