the philosopher's stone? Hey brother! If you grew up reading the Harry Potter books when they were coming out like I did,

then chances are your first Harry Potter book looked like this if you lived in America or this if you lived in the UK.

And given how successful the books would go on to be

and the global phenomenon that Harry Potter would become,

that makes these two book covers

some of the most iconic artwork on covers of books ever.

But since they were published back in 1997, a good 26 years has passed and a lot has happened for Harry Potter.

At this point, there's probably no doubt that you've seen some alternate covers of some of the books

whether it's just on your ebook or your audio books or if you just been into Barnes and Noble ever in the

last few years they've just updated the artwork on the cover but believe you me when I say that what you have seen so far

has only scratched the surface of a very deep pool of surprisingly overlooked cover art.

Because at this point, Harry Potter has been printed in over 88 languages

and sold in over 200 countries around the world, and they do not use the same artwork in every country.

And let me tell you, they get pretty wild and wacky.

I've been diving through them all this week and found 50 different covers for the philosopher's

stone alone. And mind you, there's at least that many for the other six books as well.
