Malia is a funny thing when you were a kid. I remember the day so clearly. There was this

park right behind our house in Chinkford and I'd go there all the time with my dad and my brother to play football.

No goals, no proper pitch. Just give us some grass and two trees and we were happy.

I was playing for Arsenal's youth team at the time. So one day when I was eight years old,

I was walking out to the park of my dad and he said right out of the blue, I've got to tell you

something. I said, yeah? What is it? That I remember, he put his arm on my shoulder and he said, well, Harry, Arsenal have released you.

And today we're celebrating Harry Kane finally, at last, winning a trophy.

We'll be looking at other British players, British and Irish players

who've won trophies overseas. We're going to be looking at great players who've struggled to win

trophies in their career. We're going to start off by looking a little bit at the prehistory

of Harry Kane. And I think really we're going to start by talking about how this is not preordained

at all. It's not the Arsenal that made a terrible mistake when Harry Kane's 8. There's a lot of people have a lot of doubts about him for a long time. So am I reading that right, Rob? Yeah, I think that's absolutely true. I think the thing that is compelling about Harry Kane's story, and that actually makes him more interesting than the average striker. and not to dismiss people like Wayne Rune and Jude Bellingham,

who are just brilliant from the age of sort of six,

is that he is inspirational.

He is the player that you would put up to kids at primary school or teenagers

and say, look, this is why you need resilience,

this is why you need to keep going.

I think there is an undertow to cane story that isn't sometimes appreciated.

I think sometimes he's caricatured.
