Dr. Harry Edwards is the man behind the man when you're talking about Colin Kappernik and the stand that he's taken over the last few years.

When Colin needed to understand more deeply the struggle, the history, the sociology,

what was going on behind what he wanted to do?

He turned to Dr. Harry Edwards.

And what did Dr. Edwards tell him?

I asked him.

Colin Kapronik,ik of course is a central figure.

You were mentoring him, advising him, talking to him before he first took a knee.

Can you talk about some of what you told him

and advised him in that period?

Well, I try not to tell athletes anything. I try to listen to what they have to say because they'll tell you what they need to know and

capital it is very bright very inquisitive he asked me for some books to read. What books would you suggest? And of course, James Ball in the fire next time, an autobiography of Malcolm X, my Angela, I know why the keys bird saying saying I mean the standard works for somebody who is

really opening up and blossoming and soaking up knowledge in history and so forth

like a sponge. Once he evolved to a certain level, the best

thing that I could do was to get out of the way and let him make his own

decisions.

He's very bright, very bright, extremely committed,

very courageous.

The same thing can be said for Eric Reed.

In point of fact, there were a couple of times

which would have been a critically important

exits if only temporary in order to magnify and sustain his point.
