Everybody thinks they know the Beatles, but how much do we really know?

Lennon and McCartney, Lennon and McCartney, Lennon and McCartney.

That was the rousing call of the two members of the Beatles.

But what about Harrison and Starkey?

Why couldn't they have been the rival to Lennon and McCartney? And certainly in the early 70s,

there seemed to be a good case that they were the rivals to Lennon and McCartney,

because that's the point we're trying to make today, isn't it?

It is.

At the early 1970s, 1970, 72, 3, 4,

no one to touch Harrison and Starkey, the new dream team.

Exactly. And, you know, they had collaborations, they had hit singles, and we'll come on to those

later on. But it is an interesting thing to think about. When you do look at the Fab Four, as they

were called, there was definitely the Lennon and McCartney half, and there's the Harrison Starkey half.

And you kind of wonder what their allegiances were or how they came together as,

I'm not calling them the other two, but there's certainly a division between the Lennon-McCartney axis and the Harrison-Starky axis.

Yeah, I think the Lennon-McCartney Act act as the songwriters, they just attracted so much

attention. The Beatles were a new concept in this idea that these guys wrote their own songs. They

weren't cruising down Denmark Street looking for cover versions. They very quickly established that
