It is the first week of school for much of the country.

Tragically, and unfortunately not surprisingly, there has already been a

school shooting. Four people were killed at a high school in Georgia today, two

students and two teachers. A 14 year old suspect is now in custody.

When this kind of thing happens, it's hard not to feel that nothing can be done because mass shootings have unfortunately become a kind of national periodic ritual.

But because we are in a presidential election

this year, things can be done. There are glaring policy differences on this

issue between the two presidential campaigns. They're very, very far apart.

One wants to do something about it, the other definitively does not.
