Well, it was a very big announcement yesterday

outgoing Harris County District Attorney Kim Og

Who had brought the case that landed three indictments against Lena Hidalgo's top three people in a

bid-rigging scheme, well, they ran Schontier against Kim Ogg and beat her in the Democrat primary and I would argue Rodney Ellis

was behind all of that but be that as it may with Kim Ogg leaving the question

became does that case die?

Because most people watching, and I told Dan Cogdale this earlier,

myself included, believe that Lena Hedago orchestrated a public corruption

effort, the likes of which we've probably never seen, it was ugly and there should be a

sense of justice, right? So what happens with Kim Og leaving?

Yesterday at a press conference she announced this.

Today I'm announcing that I have asked the office of the Texas Attorney General

to assume jurisdiction of the six public corruption cases pending

against three former members of Harris County Judge Lena Hedago's office.

They are charged with illegally steering an 11 million dollar contract for COVID outreach to elevate strategies, a one-person company with zero health care experience.

The reason I'm taking this action is to safeguard the public's

interest and trust in our government. The people of Harris County have a right to

expect that their elected district attorney will prosecute corruption

committed by public officials regardless of political affiliation.

Remember, it was the members of a grand jury made up of a diverse cross section of

Harris County residents who ultimately reviewed the Texas Rangers
