and this is the Daily Signal Top News for Tuesday August 6th. Vice President Kamala Harris chose Minnesota Governor Tim Walls as her

running mate on Tuesday morning. Harris said in a statement on X as a governor, a

coach, a teacher, and a veteran he's delivered for working families like his.

Before he was elected governor in 2018, Wals served in the Army National Guard and the U.S. House of Representatives.

He is popular with far-left Democrats like Nancy Pelosi, Bernie Sanders, and

Prima Jayapol, who came under fire in mid July for calling Israel a racist state.

Wals signed a bill last year allowing illegal immigrants to receive Minnesota driver's licenses.

Virginia, can you tell us about this law?

Yeah, great to be with you, Elizabeth.

So yes, back in March 2023, Minnesota Governor Tim

Wall's, he signed legislation that allows Minnesota residents to apply for a

traditional driver's license regardless of their immigration status.

So if someone was in the process of receiving a green card or they had some form of

papers that under the Biden Harris administration said they were allowed to be in this country

whether or not they were a U.S. citizen they could apply for and receive a driver's license and I did

reach out to the Minnesota Department of Public Safety and ask them, hey, is there

anywhere on that driver's license that would denote whether someone is actually a legal U.S. citizen

or not? And they said, no, all the driver's licenses will appear the same.

And Walls has been very, very open about where he stands on the border during a recent

interview with CNN in discussing Trump's border wall, he said if it's 25 feet
