On October 29, the 2024, at the exact spot where Trump made his speech on January 6th, preceding a ride at the Capitol, Kamala Harris made her closing argument to a crowd of over 75,000

voters.

She and her supporters reclaimed this spot. But before Harris took to the stage, I took to the streets.

I walked up and down the lines of excited voters waiting to hear from the vice president and

their presidential candidate, and I asked them questions about the upcoming election.

As I said, there were 75,000 people spread across the ellipse and the National Mall, ready

to be inspired by the words of the vice president.

So, I thought an important first question to ask voters

would be, what made you want to come to this event? Hi. Okay, so why did you guys feel like it was

important to turn out to this event today? For emotional support? For who? For you or for her?

For me? Well, I think history is being made and I wanted to be part of it. I wanted to witness it.

And as a white male that's 65 years old, I'm part of that secret Kamala Harris vote.

So I wanted to show up and support her.

It's historic. It's historic.

It's local.

It's where January 6th started, so it's symbolic.

We're reclaiming that back for the city.
