Good morning from Chicago, which has been a very nice city for the Democratic convention.

We had our Punch Bowl News HQ yesterday, a day-long activation, and we made some news. I'll get into that in a second, but we're going to focus this morning first on the big

event of tonight. Kamala Harris will take the stage tonight to cap off what's been a very successful

convention for Democrats so far. Still another day. so we'll revisit how great it was tomorrow,

but it's the biggest moment, obviously, in the California native's political career, and it'll

kick off a 75-day sprint to election day for Harris and former President Donald Trump.

The Obamas and Clintons made huge speeches. Joe Biden spoke. Tim Walt spoke last night.

We'll get into that more in a second. This is a historic moment. Harris is only the second woman

to become a major party presidential nominee. The first black woman and first person of Asian

American heritage in this spot and would be the only, this is kind of shocking, only the second

California-born president if she wins,

Richard Nixon was the first. And like Biden, she's trying to make a transition from vice
