Our top story is Kamala Harris building on her coalition

while also warning about a contrast in this race.

Right now I'm going to play you just part of her new warning about Project 2025 and a Trump's second-term immigration

crackdown.

Imagine what that would look like and what that would be.

Harris, using her platform to urge people to really imagine and reckon with this plan Trump

immigration policy, as Donald Trump publicly vows harsher and more violent crackdowns next year if he

wins. Now I'm going to play you her full statement here and some other big

things that Harris has been saying just as we did last night but before I

play that let's be clear the factual context and reporting matters

Harris is citing Donald Trump's past policies, including how they sometimes illegally and often harshly targeted immigrants and their families and sometimes their children.

And so again, before I play Harris for you,

with regard to that history, big picture top line,

I can tell you, fact check, true.

And many Americans may want to forget what it was like back then, but it is important

to confront that recent history and know and see these facts as the context for Harris's warning which I am also

about to play. So the history Donald Trump ran on an illegal religious ban.

Then he implemented a related Mideast Country ban, which at the time

they sold and claimed was something a little different than his originally planned

Muslim ban. And he implemented and used policies to divide up families.

Here is just a little bit of that history and the backlash at the time. Believe me, tearing children from the arms of their mother and their father is not the right decision.
