Brittany Affletered shares the story of how she became Godmother to Harmony of the Seas and shares with

a review of her recent seven night crews on board Harmony of the Seas.

There are many aspects of a Royal Caribbean ship that distinguish themselves from the rest

of the fleet, but the honorary role of a ship's godmother is not only a maritime tradition,

but it's also a part of Royal Caribbean steeped in history that has celebrated many notable women

who have made contributions to society in a number of ways.

Each new ship that enters Royal Caribbean's fleet gets a godmother,

and for harmony of the seas, Royal Caribbean sought to recognize a mentor, educator,

or teacher that has committed their life to the education of children in some way.

After a long search among many amazing women, Royal Caribbean found its godmother for harmony

of the seas in South Florida educator Brittany Affleter, and Brittany's work with Teach for America

in Miami-Dade County

has supported and inspired a number of high-school, high-need schools, rather, in Royal Caribbean's

hometown.
