And I want to say Happy New Year, but I think it's like Happy New War.

Oh, my God. That was awful. And yes, it is.

War is awful.

And this particular war, when we were not in imminent danger from Iran or this particular

person we killed, is extremely frightening.

And when I think about all the things that Trump is, a liar, a reactionary, an egomaniac who sort of leads with his emotions,

a person who does not care about other people, a person who does not study and think deeply,

this is extraordinarily dangerous to have him basically deciding whether or not we go to war

and how we respond.

You know, what I think is really interesting is that where we are since the assassination

of general major Soleimani, we have to like work ourselves backwards from there.

Because Trump triggered this

escalation when he'd walked into the White House and decided to rip up the Iran deal that Obama

put together. We have tried to create a diplomatic path with Iran for decades. And when Obama left office, not only did he leave us with a good

economy, he left us with a safer world. Trump came in and his policy, his idea, his ideology

and vision was only in contrast to Obama. What can I do that is opposite?

So if I can kick transgender people out of the military,

if I can put a ban on Muslim people entering the country,

if I can take away EPA regulation so that our water is less safe,

our air is less clean, if I can make sure that our standing in the world is now on some type of fault

...
