Hey there, Jen here, and this is a happy bit. I thought it would be fun to talk about

Zone of Genius today. This phrase is taken from the book, The Big Leap by Gay Hendricks,

and this is the place energetically where you're doing the things you are phenomenal at, the things you love to do,

where you're using your gifts and you're living your purpose and you're in a state of flow

and you feel strong and energized. When you're in your zone of genius, you're doing something

you could do forever because it feels so amazing and you love it so much.

Now let's contrast that, where I know we want to be, with the other three levels.

The first level is the zone of incompetence.

You are not skilled in this area and you have no desire to be.

For me, that zone would include auto mechanics, for example.

And then there's the zone of competence.

You can do it, but a lot of people are probably better than you.

For me, this would be cooking or gardening.

I can do them, but I'm nowhere near excellent at them. Then the third level is the

zone of excellence. This is something you do very well. You're highly skilled and not a lot of people

do it better than you. So for me, I thought my zone of excellence would include typing. I'm a really fast typeer,

like 95 words a minute. I feel like my zone of excellence also includes running an online

business and everything I learned in human development and family studies during grad school.

Let's talk about zone of genius. I'm going to share mine and hopefully it will inspire you.

The things that feel to me like my zone of genius. And that means I don't do it quite like anyone

else. And I feel alive and energized when I'm doing these things. I'm going to share what they are.
