Hey there, Jen here, and this is a happy bit. So I heard a quote recently that I've heard before,

0:07.0

but it reminded me how much I love it, and that is, that which we focus on increases. That which we

0:14.1

focus on increases. So I've noticed a lot of women around me saying things like, oh, I'm crazy busy.

0:23.2

I'm so stressed.

0:24.4

I can barely handle it.

0:25.8

I just wish my kids would X and on and on.

0:29.4

And do you see what's happening there, what we're all prone to doing?

0:32.8

And that is focusing on what's lacking.

0:36.5

And if this quote is correct, which I believe it is, that which we

0:40.3

focus on increases, then we're actually probably making the problem worse. So I believe I've

0:47.1

1:03.8

And it presents the things to your mind that are most important. The things that actually

1:09.0

help support a belief you might have. For example, if you believe

1:12.7

you always get stopped at a red light, then you're going to find evidence of that. And every time a

1:18.2

red light happens, your brain will say, see, this is true. You're at a red light. But in actuality,

1:24.7

you're probably stopping at just as many green lights, and you're not hitting

1:28.4

any more red lights than anyone else.

1:30.5

See what I mean?

1:31.4

So if you believe, oh, I'm crazy busy, or I can't do this, this is too hard, or if only

1:38.7

my child or my spouse would do X, Y, or Z, you're focusing on the lack and your brain's going to find evidence of that.
