Hey there, Jed here, and this is a happy bit. Today I want to talk to you about my 2018 New Year's

0:08.4

resolution slash goal setting process. And it begins with not thinking about what I want to do or achieve,

0:16.6

but focusing on how I want to feel, how I want to feel at home with my relationships,

0:23.0

with my work, and in every aspect of my life. I'm not going to share all of my goals,

0:27.9

but I'm going to share three. So my first step was to fill up our bath and put in some

0:33.6

Epsom salt, which has lots of magnesium. It's very relaxing. And I took my notebook and a pen

0:40.8

and I got quiet and grounded and centered. And I spent a few moments breathing into my heart area.

0:49.0

And what does that mean? Just imagining the breath going right to your heart. Then I did a few gratitudes.

0:56.1

And what does this do? It helped me to get grounded, centered into the right energetic space,

1:01.9

not an energy of frenetic or frantic or have to or must, but an energy of allowing and ease and flow.

1:09.5

And then, as I relaxed in the bath for about 90 full minutes,

1:14.0

I began to write, how do I want to feel at home? And I realized I wanted to feel more grounded

1:21.9

and in control. When I'm in the energy or the energetic space, I felt well in the bath. I'm a better mom. I'm calmer. I'm more

1:31.6

positive. I'm less reactive and I'm way more patient. So I wanted to feel more grounded and in

1:38.0

control. So I realized the key to that was my morning routine. And so I've been pretty good about my morning routine,

1:47.3

but I wanted to tighten it up. So I wrote down a few things I absolutely need to do. And so those include

1:53.8

waking up and moving and doing some yoga. I jump in my rebounder and do yoga. And of course,

1:59.9

I meditate and pray to return to that calm

2:03.5

and grounded energy that I love so much and that makes me a better mom in person. I have a bit

2:09.5

of visualization and vision journaling. Why this? Well, having a vision of what you want and actively thinking about it not only strengthens

2:20.8

neural connections in your brain, but it's kind of like Dora the Explorer, which is a show my

2:27.3

kids loved. I don't even know if it's popular anywhere, but we love Dora around here.
