but that doesn't mean I should wear this particular short-sleeve polo shirt. Well, you just did about this last week. You talked about taking a lousy piece of clothing with you on a flight. Yeah, this was the one I left home. one that you didn't take on your last trip.

It's not lousy.

It's very sound.

The stitching is nice.

You would look at it and you would say it's got a tiny little horse on the chest. You would look at it and say that is a good shirt if it weren't the color of what you would do if you were trying to illustrate a cartoon salmon who is swimming too close to a nuclear reactor. Slate.com slash hangup super week. In a news conference on Friday, his first public appearance in September 10th, Roger Goodell apologized for the NFL's handling of the Ray Rice case,

saying that he got it wrong on a number of levels. But to say that the commissioner apologized

isn't to say that he looked or sounded like a human being because he did not. Though it's kind

of dumb that we grade people on their self-presentation as much as their actions,

Goodell hasn't given us much else to go on in the last month or so.
