Well, our scripture lesson today comes from the 13th chapter of the gospel according to St. Matthew.

Matthew is, he's a tax collector. He works for IRS of the day.

Which means that he is meticulous about keeping details of the account of the story.

And so there are certain things that you get from

Matthew that is a meticulous accounting he gives us the genealogy of Jesus and

talks about how he comes down because he's meticulous he is just that kind of

person so Matthew chapter 13 verse 24 through 30 in the new living

translation notice there these words.

Here is another story Jesus told.

The kingdom of heaven is like a farmer who planted good seed in his field.

But that night as the worker slept, his enemy came and planted weeds among the wheat and then slipped away.

And when the crop began to grow and produce grain, the weeds also grew.

The farmer's workers went to him and said, sir, the field, where you planted good, planted that good seed is full of weeds.

Where did they come from?

An enemy has done this,

the farmer exclaimed. Should we pull out the weeds? they ask. No, he replied, you'll uproot the wheat if you do. Let both grow together until the harvest, and then I will tell the harvesters

to sort out the weeds, tie them in the

bundles and burn them and put the wheat in the barn. We're speaking today from the subject

handling wheat and weeds. Handling wheat and weeds. This is a parable that Jesus shares with us. A parable is a short, simple
