Hey, I believe we're going to have the guys call in from Vegas if they can find a way to get to us,

but we are here and we are going to talk a little bit of hoops after four summer league games

for your Philadelphia 76ers. Last night, not a very good game. I got to say, that's a nice way

of putting it. Not a good game. So we're going to take all four games and give our takes mainly on the guys who we think can be on the roster. Some of them we know will be on the roster. Some are more fringe players, two-way signings. But I have not been in for a week and I've watched three and a half of these games. I didn't watch a second half last night, guys. I'm sorry. I couldn't do it. I don't blame it. You probably would have had more success just staring at the static, like poltergeist style than watching the second half of that game. So hopefully for tomorrow's game, VJ Edgecombe can come back because, boy, I mean, the Sixers really need him. Actually, weirdly, Tyler, he is, he's had this thumb issue, uh, this week. And I also have a thumb issue this really from playing hoops. Yeah. You're playing through. Well, I didn't play. I played, what's he up to? Come on. Well, you're right. I'm typing through it and i'm uh i'm podcasting through it that is not

fun like catching the basketball with a thumb contusion thumb sprain whatever it is even if it's not a

big deal not uh not a lot of fun so hopefully he comes back and uh in place but i also understand

them wanting to be cautious with him like as much as it would be nice to see him play in the summer league. And I think there's probably a lot of value in him playing in these games. If he's banged up, like, it's not worth it. Yeah, I mean, I think the running gag is like, who but the Sixers, right? Like, this is just the type of stuff that happens routinely to the Sixers. you could go down the litany of injuries and freak things and Calangelo burners that have happened over the last couple of years,

where the Sixers kind of finally get a stroke of good luck, not only keep their pick, but move up to the number three overall pick,

get a kid who looks like he can play, puts up 27 in the first game, and then the injury happens. And I think that's

kind of the running joke over the last week, is that, you know, this is just another in the long

line of who but the Sixers things that could certainly happen. But I do think there would be value

in him playing these games, but I also do know that it's July, and I would much prefer Vijay

Edgecombe's name to be called in the end of October and healthy and ready to go, then opposed

to what we're, you know, forcing him into a rushed action in what is basically exhibition

games for a guy that we know is going to make the roster.

You know, if this were a second round pick, maybe he would push to play a little bit. If this were unrestricted or undrafted free agent, he'd probably try to do whatever he could to get out there. But we're talking about the number three overall pick in the draft and a guy who, I mean, really wowed us in that first game. quite frankly, if the Sixers said, you're good, you're done after game one, even pre-thumb injury, I don't know if I would argue with it.

The big reason you want to see him play more is because this team's point guard situation when he doesn't play is pretty rough.

It's a lot of shoot first guys.

They got completely locked up by the summer San Antonio Spurs last night.
