We were talking about Tom Petty yesterday.

I don't know how we got on the subject, but artists who, when they do a concert, they either don't like to do their hits or they give you the crappy hit medley.

Like, I almost hate the hit medley more than just not doing the song at all.

Because that's like a tease.

It's just a middle finger to you, right?

Prince was a guy that would either do the medley or not do the hits at all.

Mellencamp sometimes is a medley guy.

But Tom Petty, and this is why it came to my mind, he was always so awesome.

Back when I was doing promotions at another radio station, Petty had a concert up at Deer Creek.

And he just made the announcement flat out

because this was his personality.
