The UN Agency for Palestinian Refugees has warned its shelters in the Gaza Strip are overwhelmed with displaced people seeking refuge.

It said the facilities were holding 600,000 Palestinians, four times their capacity, but many were still having to sleep in the streets.

Israel, for its part, says fuel deliveries could fall into the hands of Hamas, which many Western governments classify as a terrorist organization.
