We start this episode in Gaza, where Hamas is now working to reassert its control of the enclave

following Israel's withdrawal from parts of the territory.

It comes, as President Donald Trump warned yesterday,

that Hamas must disarm, or quote, we will disarm them, and declaring that phase two of the

ceasefire plan has begun. For the latest, here's CNN, Salma Abdelaziz. There's been many

reports of violent clashes that have taken place in the enclave, but I want to point out one incident, which was shared on a Hamas-affiliated social media channel.

It purports to show masked gunmen, some of them with Hamas headbands, killing eight blindfolded individuals.

It is deeply concerning, but it seems that it is only the beginning because Hamas has now

issued a statement to residents in Gaza saying that they should hand over what they call

collaborators or those who they perceive as enemies or face, quote, the swift hand of justice.

The Supreme Court could be on the brink of further gutting the Voting Rights Act.

It's being put to the test in a Louisiana redistricting case set to be argued today.

CNN's Joan Biscupik says this is one of the greatest challenges to the 1965 Act in more than a decade.

This has to do with remedies for when state legislatures draw congressional maps or legislative

maps that end up diluting the voting power of blacks and Hispanics.

There's a common practice known as cracking and packing and cracking, where state legislature's drawing maps will

pack all the blacks into one district and then maybe spread out the few remaining, so it

minimizes their ability to elect their preferred candidates.

And in other political news, CNN will be hosting a live town hall with progressive lawmakers

Senator Bernie Sanders and Representative Alexandria Ocasio Cortez tonight.
