When Kim was in grade two, she wrote a short story for Halloween, and she handed it in to her teacher.

There once a ghost that lived a spook house, and the ghosts that are very ferocious and kill people,

and can take a hammer and hit you in the head.

And a skeleton, take a saw, and saw your head off.

And give you a black eye.

And pumpkins slam on your head and kill you.

The pumpkins can scare you. They only come at Halloween night.

They can make you bleed.

Tigers kill you only on Halloween night.

They can scratch you. They can hurt you, they can stab you.

We scoured years' worth of recordings to bring together some of our favorite scary, spooky stories from all across Canada.
