Hello, we have an odd and moving little tale today from Susan, who says, back in 1976,

I was living in Hackney on the top floor of a late Edwardian house.

The people on the ground floor had an old boxer dog called

Janie. It was Janie's habit to sleep at the bottom of the stairs, so he had to step over her.

The inevitable happened, and sadly, Janie died in her spot in the hallway. That was not the

end of the story, however. Afterwards, as I came into the house, I felt like I could see Janie still laid there and would have to step over her.

At first, I thought it was just me, but one day the postman knocked on the door and I went to open it.

He had a large heavy parcel and I asked him if he could bring it in and put it on the hall table.

He said he never went into a house where there was a dog, especially a big dog like a boxer. I looked around,

and Janie was there. She was silent, but bearing her teeth as if growling. She had never liked

the post coming. Over time, Janie started to fade away. It took about a year,

but even when you couldn't see her anymore, it was still a need to step over her. Thank you so much,
